Collaborative online painting platform for the Züricher Theater Spektakel 2012

In cooperation with TBS Identity, mabulous develops for the Züricher Theater Spektakel 2012 a custom online collaborative painting tool named “Pictonauts”. Pictonauts enabled the artists Yuka Katagiri from Tokio, Stefan Marx from Hamburg, Marcus Oakley from London and Beni Bischof from St. Gallen to paint online together on an infinitely large canvas and thereby creating individually, yet cooperatively a big intercontinental illustration. This illustration was then used by TBS Identity in different media as visual recognition feature for the 2012 festival. The tool was specifically crafted to recreate a black-marker-pen illustration style, to allow to explore the illustration interactively at various zoom levels and to share cutouts of the illustration via facebook, twitter and e-mail.
